What is Structural Integration?

Rolfing Structural Integration was created by Ida P. Rolf, Phd. Rolfing is a way of restructuring bodies by gently lengthening, stretching and loosening connective tissue (muscle and it’s wrapping), with the goal of better alignment, ease of movement and greater vitality.

In the 1960s, Dr. Rolf called her work Structural Integration but clients began calling it Rolfing and the term stuck. Today there are several schools that use the name structural Integration but the Rolf Institute (Dr. Rolf’s original school) is the only school which can legally use the word.
